Installation of August Smart Lock Pro
Installing the August Smart Lock Pro takes roughly 10 minutes. The August Smart Lock Pro is simple to install because it does not require you to replace your complete lock. It works with most single-cylinder deadbolts and only requires a Phillips-head screwdriver as an additional tool. Expect to put about 10 to 15 minutes to get it up and running.
Installation instructions for August Smart Lock Pro are as follows:
Tape the outside of your deadbolt down using the provided adhesive strip. This is only to keep it in place while you finish the rest of the project. Remove the thumb latch on your deadbolt using a screwdriver (the inside part). Install the August mounting plate in place of the thumb latch. Select the appropriate adapter for your lock and install it in the mounting plate. The August Smart Lock Pro should be attached to the mounting plate. Take out the faceplate and replace it with two AA batteries. (The lock is included.) Remove the battery tab from the case. To set up your new device, replace the faceplate and download the August app.
